The Institute for Dietetics in Nigeria (IDN) is saddened to announce the passing of one of its icons, Prof. I. O. Olayiwola, FIDN.
Prof. Olayiwola was a devoted and diligent member of the Institute, serving as a veritable mentor and strong pillar of support to members, particularly those from the Ogun State chapter and beyond. Notably, she delivered the keynote lecture at the Institute’s national scientific conference in 2021 and coordinated the conference in 2015, held at Ilishan Remo in Ogun State.
She was a kind and jovial person, and as a Fellow of the Institute, she was a shining ambassador throughout her career. Prof. Olayiwola was dedicated to sharing her knowledge with others, especially younger members, and had agreed to be a distinguished guest lecturer at the forthcoming Lagos conference.
Her passing is a tremendous loss, and she will be deeply missed. May her soul rest in peace.
